Busy, busy, busy!

I am a “Type A” personality. I like lists. I like things neat and orderly. I need for my environment to be clean in order for me to process my life. I do not like to be still, and if I sit around and do nothing I feel massive amounts of guilt. I guess it is good that God saw fit to bless me with a large family so that sitting around doing nothing is never really an […]

July Photography Project: Black and White

There is a special beauty that is black and white photography. It evokes different emotions in me than a color photograph does. When I was a little girl and would watch movies in black and white sometimes, I remember thinking that it was such a pity that those people had to live in such a colorless world. I thought they truly lived in black and white! This project again forced me to “think outside of the box” so to speak […]

Short and Sweet

I was asked a question recently that left me praying and seeking the right way to answer it. Someone asked me,”What is there to look forward to in this life?” The implication was that there is, of course, the blessed hope of eternity, but the real question was if there was something to actually look forward to while we’re here. I mean, it is easy to hope in heaven and look forward to going there someday. But what should keep […]

Just for Laughs and More

Below is a “comment” I recently received on my blog. “certainly like your website but you have to test the spelling on quite a few of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling issues and I in finding it very bothersome to tell the reality on the other hand I will surely come back again.” These sorts of comments really crack me up! They were obviously written by someone without a full grasp of […]

June Photography Project: Yellow and Texture

It has taken me almost all month to do this project as I have had to wrestle the camera away from my outrageously talented husband who steals my camera on a regular basis! We also had to get a newer computer since our old one was slower than a caveman learning calligraphy. So I’ve had to learn how to run the different photo programs on it. All of that to say that I am finished! I finally completed my photography […]

Operation: Care for Conrad

Prayer is a powerful thing. I have seen and heard of God’s miraculous works many times over the course of my life because God has heard and answered the prayers of His people. Let me tell you about a situation that my family and I are currently praying about. Last week we were invited to Nathan’s friend’s house for a special surprise. Nathan has a new friend (Conrad) that we just met a few months ago. It was recently discovered […]

Targeting Gorillas :)

There sure is a lot going on in our world these days! We’ve got the Target transgender controversy, the gorilla “god”, the choice-less election, and many other social issues happening daily. I’m almost afraid to see what’s coming next! Keep reading to see why I’m not. 😉 The world is constantly changing, ever evolving into a more God-less society each day. We used to be a nation that stood for morality, virtue, sanctity of life, and common decency. Now […]

May Photography Project: Purple and Line

I have been working very hard on this month’s project and it has really challenged me and opened my eyes to the great beauty all around me. For example, one of my challenges was that I had an image in mind that I had been wanting to capture for awhile, but I could not figure out how to accomplish it, short of stopping my car in the middle of the freeway! There has been a major freeway project going […]

Overwhelmed by God

As I sit and write this, I am completely overwhelmed. This is a good thing, because I am not overwhelmed by my responsibilities, my children, the demands of my life, or my bills. I am overwhelmed by my God. I am awestruck when I consider all that He has done and is doing in my life. In fact last night I sat and literally cried because I was so touched that He cared so deeply about me. Every once in […]

Mother’s Day Joy!

Last weekend we celebrated Mother’s Day. It was a wonderful day for me filled with joy and many happy moments. I hope that all of you moms out there had a wonderful day also. I think that the best moments were hearing my kids laughing and playing together as they planted my flowerbeds full of colorful impatiens, petunias, and snap dragons. It’s always so delightful to hear them good-naturedly teasing and having fun with each other. Nothing makes […]
